Karen Walshe
Karen has lived in Marlborough for 4 years and is passionate about the region and its produce. Karen shifted to Marlborough to work for Grove Mill winery as their marketing manager. She has since set up her own marketing company and consults to businesses locally. Karen loves the outdoors and after spending a summer as a sea kayak and walking guide in the Marlborough Sounds meeting a succession of wonderful people she decided to start her own tour company and Explore Marlborough was born.
Charlotte Patterson
Charlotte moved to Marlborough 12 years ago and while travelling is one of her passions she is always happy to come home to beautiful Marlborough. Trained as an accountant she has spent the last 9 years working in a management role for the Prenzel Distilling Company - a boutique food manufacturer and distillery. She left there in early 2007 to travel to the USA to indulge her passions of cooking and yoga working in the kitchen of a yoga retreat for 3 months. On returning to NZ she left the accounting world far behind to set up Explore Marlborough with Karen and run her own Bed & Breakfast.
Pete
Pete has lived and worked in Marlborough for over 20 years and has a wealth of knowledge of the region. He served as a Policeman for 18 years up until 2004 when his passion for the great outdoors and adventure saw him start up his own sports events company.
Pete is the race director for the famed “Forrest Estate Graperide”, the biggest cycle event in the South Island and more recently launched a mountain bike event called the “Moa Beer Moa Hunt”.
Pete is married to Nicky and together they have three of the most beautiful princesses in the world namely Amy 15, Suzie 13 and Libby 11. He is really looking forward to meeting you all and making your time with Explore Marlborough an unforgettable experience.
