Explore the beautiful Marlborough Sounds aboard a 53ft luxury yacht.
Designed by renowned New Zealand architect Alan Warwick she is stunning to look at and fitted out with the best of everything. With three private double cabins ( two with ensuites), a main saloon with sumptuous leather settees and a galley to rival any kitchen, she is a floating boutique hotel. She takes up to 12 people on a day tour. Overnight tours can be arranged.
Skippered by the highly experienced Jo Ivory. Diminutive and dynamic, you will enjoy Jo’s bubbly personality and great sense of humour. Jo is one of the only women crews to have completed the around NZ sailing race.
Enjoy a relaxing day cruising out to the end of Queen Charlotte Sound to Motuara Island and Ship Cove. On Motuara we do a short walk to the top of the island for stunning views of the Queen Charlotte Sound. The island is home to a number of NZ’s endangered birds which we will often see while walking.
From there we head to Ship Cove, one of Captain Cook's regular South Island
moorings. Anchored at Ship Cove we have a gourmet lunch of local produce with a focus on local seafood.
Ship Cove is a beautiful quiet spot surrounded by virgin native forest so after lunch guests can do a short walk to a waterfall or stop and read information panels on the history of the area.
The rest of the day is spent cruising back towards Picton with canapés, a glass or two of Marlborough wine and the setting sun.
Throughout the day our highly experienced skipper and your Explore Marlborough guide will entertain you with stories of the areas history, wildlife and landscape and local personalities.
